How to Become a Member?

Membership into the sorority is by invitation only. The required way to show formal interest in membership is attendance at the Informational Interest Meeting hosted by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. on campus or in the community. You are welcome to bring a resume with you to the Interest Meeting. Attendance at the Informational Meeting does not guarantee that an invitation to membership will be extended.

Current members look for interested women who have a track record of community service. Women who are well-rounded, eager to learn, committed to service, scholarly, and possess the ideals in which this sorority was founded.

Minimum Educational Requirements for Graduate Membership

Earned a bachelor’s level degree from an accredited 4-year college/university.
If applying within 3 years of graduation, must have earned at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale or earned an advanced degree such as a Masters or professional degree.
Undergraduate transcript must be provided to confirm eligibility for membership.

Transfer:

If you are currently active in a chapter and wish to transfer into Eta Omicron Zeta Chapter, we welcome you! A signed transfer card and the appropriate membership fees will be required.

Are you a current member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and are looking to become active with a Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Graduate Chapter that “lives” Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood, the Electrifying Eta Omicron Zeta chapter is for you! Come Back Home to Zeta. Gamma Kappa

The Gamma Kappa Chapter was chartered on the campus of Rutgers University-New Brunswick on May 17, 1980 by 10 trendsetting women. Since then, the chapter has participated in numerous fundraisers and promoted awareness via different programming throughout the Rutgers community. The chapter participates in a few signature events every year including the Annual Tree Rededication, in which the Gamma Kappa tree on campus is dedicated to the Atlanta Child Murders which took place from 1979-1981 and other national causes that touch the members of Gamma Kappa. Another signature event is the Gamma Kappa baby shower where a local mom-to-be who is affected by homelessness is able to be celebrated and uplifted before she brings her bundle of joy into the world.

Zeta Lambda

On May 23rd, 1981, the Devastating, Fascinating Zeta Lambda Chapter was chartered on the campus of Kean University by 10 young women, who are known as the “Tenacious Ten,” with the help of the Gamma Kappa Chapter (Rutgers University – New Brunswick) and Eta Omicron Zeta chapter (Plainfield, NJ Graduate Chapter). In keeping with the ideals of Zeta, the charter members began the work within the university and surrounding areas, to enhance the experience of students and the lives of the local community.

Present day, the ladies of the Zeta Lambda Chapter are continuing to shine and make their mark, as well as a positive impact on the campus of Kean University! From campus collaborations to providing service in the local community, the ladies of Zeta Lambda continue to put Zeta at the forefront of everything they do.
