H.O.Z. Donates Cleaning Supplies and Socks to Help Unhoused Individuals

Sister Circle “Team Fannie’s” Z-HOPE Initiative for March 2022 was to collect donations of cleaning supplies to provide to the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless located at 118 Division Street in Elizabeth, NJ.

Per Sheila Casey, Agency Administrator, “The cleaning supplies are for the people we serve in our housing programs as they move into our transitional housing which are Hospitality Houses or those moving from emergency shelter into their own housing. We welcome our Hospitality Houses guests with cleaning baskets and supplies and then again when they move out to their own housing. The socks are most welcome as we do our Outreach efforts in the communities across the county. Socks are among the most important material items we can share with the homeless. Their foot health is so especially important. The socks, along with toiletries help to get the conversation started with those who are living on the street to see just how we can help. It builds trust and is a tremendous act of kindness that you chose to collect them. 165 pairs will go a long way in getting folks the help they need.”

Through generous donations from chapter Sorors, Sister Circle “Team Fannie” was able to collect and provide over 217 cleaning supply items and 165 pairs of socks.

Sister Circle “Team Fannie” would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the chapter for all the donations provided to the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless. Please know that the organization was incredibly grateful and thankful for the donations of cleaning supplies from Team Fannie and the socks from “Team Pearl.” This would not have been successful without your support. A special thank you to all the Sorors who were able to participate in the drop off of the supplies. Linda Flores-Tober and Sheila Casey were so happy to have received the supplies that will help with providing the items to those residing in their transitional housing facilities.

H.O.Z. – Service is what we do.
